KAST Loves Camp! Can't wait for the next “Summer of Science”
2013 was another science-packed summer for KAST kids, with Summer of Science camps for kids in seven communities across the West/Central Kootenay and Boundary region.
KAST’s GLOWS (Growing, Learning Opportunities with Science) program continues our invaluable partnership with city recreation departments in Robson, Castlegar, Trail, Rossland, and Nelson, as well as the Blueberry Creek Community School and Selkirk College in Grand Forks, to help Kootenay kids ages 5 – 12 enjoy and experience the science that surrounds us all summer.
245 kids enjoyed the 2013 Summer of Science, and a big "thank you" to our Summer Science Camps (student) Coordinator April Tellier for returning to do another amazing job in 2013.
2014 Summer of Science: The KAST Summer of Science is supported annually by the federal government's Canada Summer Jobs program. Watch this space in May/June 2014 for news about the 2014 Summer of Science.
