APEGBC's annual Popsicle Bridge Building Competition is always a hit, and this year was no exception. The contest took place at the Community Science Celebration in Castlegar on April 14th, proudly supported by KAST.
Win $2,500 towards your first year in an environment-related post-secondary program. Provided by ECO Canada, the Newalta Aboriginal Environmental Scholarship will be awarded to three individuals who have shown leadership in their communities in the areas of environmental protection, resource management, or environmental sustainabililty. Application deadline is May 14th, 2012.

It starts with an inquisitive mind that becomes captivated by an interesting question and driven to unravel the mystery. It is not Sherlock Holmes of which we speak, rather a group of 82 young scientists who recently participated in the West Kootenay and Boundary Regional Science Fair.
The 2012 West Kootenay U19 Film Fest, presented by the Rossland Council for Arts and Cultureand KAST, was held at the Royal Theatre in Trail on April 14th. 26 films were submitted by aspiring filmmakers, over $2000 in cash and prizes was awarded, and over 150 people filled the theatre to take in the artists’ work.
